When repiping makes more sense than repair.And what to expect.

Galvanized steel pipes (common in Vegas homes built before 1980) rust from the inside out — they fail gradually with reduced pressure first, then leaks. Polybutylene (1978-1995) weakens at the fittings and can fail catastrophically. Old copper (especially soft copper from the 60s-70s) can develop pinhole leaks throughout. When any of these systems is leaking in multiple places, repair stops making financial sense.

Whole-house repipe replaces every accessible water line in your home with new PEX-A or copper. We run new lines through the attic, walls, and crawl spaces. The old pipes get abandoned in place (not removed — removing would destroy walls). Then we pressure-test the new system, swap connections at every fixture, and have it inspected for code compliance.

Typical 3-4 bedroom home: 2-3 days from start to finish. Water is off for short periods during the swap-over but on at the end of every day. We try to minimize drywall damage — usually 10-15 small patches that the homeowner can hire a painter to texture and repaint.
